Elizabethtown, NC - The Emereau Aviators opened their middle school baseball season with a 12-7 win over Midway on Monday afternoon.
Emereau’s offense came to life early and often, led by Vance Rowland, who scored three runs and reached base four times with a single, double, and two walks.
Cooper Patrick added to the attack with two singles and a walk, keeping the Aviators’ lineup moving and putting constant pressure on Midway’s defense.
Emereau’s patient approach at the plate paid off, as they worked several key walks that extended innings and turned into runs.
Jackson Moffat crossed the plate twice, while Colt Lewis sparked the offense with three runs scored, two singles, and a walk of his own.
The Aviators also took advantage of Midway miscues, combining smart baserunning with timely hitting to build their lead.
Midway battled back, but the Emereau defense came up with big plays when needed to secure the win.
Contributions came throughout the lineup, with Greigh Butler, Grayson Leggett, Craven Kinlaw, and Stryker Pait all reaching base and scoring at least once.
With a balanced offensive effort, the Aviators fly into their next matchup at 1-0, hoping to keep the momentum rolling after a successful opening day.
