Bladenboro All-Stars (Sweetees 6U) Wrap Up Memorable First Season

Tabor City, NC - The future of softball in Bladen County is looking bright—and it’s starting young. The Bladenboro All-Stars (Sweetees 6U) recently competed in Tabor City for their first-ever postseason appearance, representing Bladen County with heart, enthusiasm, and plenty of smiles.
This season marked a milestone as Bladenboro introduced the 4–6-year-old division in Dixie Softball for the first time. With two teams competing in the regular season and an All-Star roster selected for tournament play, there’s a growing excitement about the future of this age group. The energy and passion on the field point to a program that’s just getting started but already showing promise.
Coaches Madison McKnight, Allie Hood, Tracy Miller, and Jordan Bartley led the team with encouragement and excitement, helping the girls grow in their skills and love for the game.
In their opening game against South Brunswick, the Bladenboro All-Stars showed off an impressive offensive effort, falling just one run short in a 27-26 thriller. Several players had perfect days at the plate.
Lillian Miller, Isla Nardi, and Jacey Bartley each racked up four hits and scored four runs apiece, providing a huge spark for the offense. Cora Johnson added four hits and crossed home plate three times, while Adelaide Bordeaux chipped in with three hits and two runs of her own.
Peavy collected three hits and scored twice, and both Layken Horton and Anna Grey Dowless added two hits each, contributing to the team’s steady scoring. Kynadie Davis, Willow Sykes, and Kinsley McKnight each had a hit and scored a run to round out the well-balanced attack.
In Game 2 against West Brunswick, Bladenboro kept up the energy despite a 30-20 loss. Jacey Bartley once again led the way with four hits and three runs. Layken Horton and Adelaide Bordeaux both tallied three hits and scored three times, continuing their standout tournament performances.
Willow Sykes added three hits and scored twice, while Isla Nardi, Lillian Miller, and Emmie Peavy each recorded two hits and crossed the plate twice. Cora Johnson, Kynadie Davis, and Kinsley McKnight each added a hit and a run, and Anna Grey Dowless stayed consistent with two more hits. Kennedy Hood also got in on the action, contributing a base hit of her own.
Beyond the box scores, this group of young girls showed tremendous teamwork, effort, and excitement every time they took the field. From high-fives to hustle plays, it was clear they weren’t just learning the game—they were loving it.
With talent already developing and support from committed coaches and families, the future of the Sweetees division in Bladenboro looks strong.
These girls set the tone for years to come, proving that even at 4, 5, and 6 years old, you can make a big impact and have a lot of fun doing it.
