Bladenboro Dixie Angels All-Stars Set for State Showdown in Lumberton

Lumberton, NC - ​Bladenboro’s own Dixie Angels (10U) All-Stars are packing up their gloves, cleats, and small-town pride as they head into the biggest weekend of their summer.

This talented group of young girls is set to represent Bladen County in the Official Dixie Softball, Inc. State Tournament, an eight-team, double-elimination bracket being held at Northeast Park in Lumberton.

Their opening matchup is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday morning, where they’ll face a strong Moore County team. The stakes are high from the first pitch—whoever wins that game will go on to face the winner of the 9:00 a.m. game between host team Lumberton and Bessemer City.

The All-Stars from Bladenboro have been practicing under the summer sun and under the watchful eyes of coaches John Ammons, Danielle Dove, and Mike Dove, preparing to show what hard work, teamwork, and heart can do on a state stage.

This year’s roster includes Keatyn Norris, Macyn Bebout, Bella Hester, Averie Tew, Eva Dove, Sadie Rabon, Nora Blake Chadwick, Rachel Earp, Alivia Ammons, Emoni Autry, Sully Peterson, and Ava Willoughby—a group full of determination, energy, and a little dirt under their fingernails.

Each of these girls has put in the hours and earned her spot on the team, and now they’re ready to take that dedication to Lumberton. While the tournament is tough, what’s tougher is this tight-knit team that’s come to play with grit and sportsmanship, win or lose.

Bladen County has always rallied behind its young athletes, and this weekend is no different.

Whether you’re making the short drive to Northeast Park or following the games from home, there’s no doubt that these girls will be carrying the support of their hometown with every pitch, swing, and sprint.
