BLADENBORO, NC — The Bladenboro Middle School soccer programs continue to set the standard in Bladen County.

The Lady Bulldogs extended their incredible winning streak to 27 straight games dating back to 2022, while the boys’ team has quietly built an undefeated season of their own.

Both squads remain perfect through early October, blending skill, teamwork, and confidence on both sides of the field.

Both teams play today at home vs Nakina.

Girls Soccer — 27 Straight and Counting

September 25 | Bladenboro 3, Williams Township 1

Williams Township struck first about ten minutes into the match, putting Bladenboro on unfamiliar footing. But as championship teams do, the Lady Bulldogs responded.

Just before halftime, Ashley Santos bent in a beautiful unassisted corner kick that found the back post and tucked into the top corner, a highlight-reel goal that tied the match heading into the break.

To start the second half, Ady Carroll calmly buried a penalty kick to give Bladenboro its first lead of the day.

Later, with about seven minutes left, Carroll set up Kaylee Fisher for the insurance goal, sealing a 3-1 win and keeping their undefeated streak alive.

October 2 | Bladenboro 4, Tabor City 0

A week later, Bladenboro looked every bit the powerhouse they’ve become, blanking Tabor City behind a hat trick from Ady Carroll and another goal from Ashley Santos.

In goal, Caity McLaurin was perfect, posting yet another shutout for the Bulldogs, who improved to 7-0 on the season.

With a mix of finesse and focus, this group continues to play with the poise of a team that knows how to win — and expects to.

Boys Soccer — Finding Their Stride

September 26 | Bladenboro 6, Williams Township 2

The boys’ squad showed heart and resilience in their own comeback performance. Williams struck first to lead 1-0 early, but Rodrick Ellison connected with Tyler Thurman to equalize before halftime.

The second half brought fireworks. Williams regained the lead 2-1, but that didn’t last long.

In a stunning stretch of about three to four minutes, Keithan Russ exploded for three unassisted goals, notching a hat trick that flipped the game completely.

Down the stretch, Thurman found Greylan Nobles for another score, and Zion Ellison added one more off an assist from Russ, capping off a 6-2 statement win.

October 2 | Bladenboro 4, Tabor City 0

The Bulldogs carried that momentum into their next matchup, blanking Tabor City to move to 7-0 on the season.

Tyler Thurman led the way with two goals, including a penalty kick and an unassisted corner that he buried himself.

Zion Ellison and Keithan Russ each added a goal, while Kamaurie Barr recorded the shutout in goal.

Bladenboro’s boys have found their identity: fast, disciplined, and relentless on both ends of the field.
