Whiteville, NC - Just two days after a statement 3-1 win over Whiteville on Monday, East Bladen took the field again Wednesday night looking to sweep the season series.

The Eagles jumped out to an early lead but couldn’t hold off a late rally, falling 6-3 in the Waccamaw Conference matchup.

East Bladen now sits at 8-8 overall and 7-5 in conference play. Despite the loss, they’ve won seven of their last ten games and continue to build momentum as a young, improving team.

Their next test comes in the Spring Break Tournament this weekend, where they’ll face Village Christian Academy on Friday at 4 p.m., followed by Freedom Christian Academy on Saturday at 7 p.m.

Jayce Hatcher sparked the offense early, crossing the plate in the second inning after reaching base with a single.

Debo Lewis, who had a solid night on both sides of the ball, followed with an RBI single that brought Hatcher home.

Aiden Hargrove, who reached on a walk, later scored as Andrew Musslewhite put the ball in play and forced a defensive miscue.

Braylon Cromartie added to the pressure, working his way around the bases and scoring on a bases-loaded walk drawn by Colton Daly, who also notched an RBI for his effort.

Lewis finished the night with one hit and one RBI, while Hargrove, Cromartie, and Hatcher each contributed a run scored. Musslewhite reached base twice via walks and kept the offense moving.

Tyler Eason added a base hit to the team’s total, while Isaiah Lee, Zach Sholar, and Jaxon Hair each stepped to the plate and battled against a tough Whiteville pitching staff.

On the mound, Lewis delivered four strong innings to start the game, giving up just one earned run on three hits while striking out three.

Easton Bostic came on in relief and worked two innings, allowing one earned run and striking out one without issuing a walk.

With tournament play up next, the Eagles will look to continue their upward trajectory and carry this competitive edge into the final stretch of the season.
