East Bladen Golf Finishes Strong Second at Vineyard Golf

White Lake, NC – The East Bladen Eagles put together one of their best team performances of the season on Thursday at Vineyard Golf in White Lake, placing second overall with a team score of 371.

Competing against a tough field, the Eagles were edged out only by South Columbus, who posted a 356. Whiteville followed in third with a 390.

Leading the charge for East Bladen was senior Connor Smith, who turned in an impressive round of 88. Smith’s day was highlighted by a moment he won’t soon forget — his first career eagle.

With a smooth swing and steady nerves, he chipped in from 75 yards out on the par-five 13th hole.

Freshman Dayton Wilson Jr. wasn’t far behind. He recorded an 89 — the best round of his young high school career. Wilson played with poise well beyond his years, managing the course smartly and showing flashes of what could be a bright future for East Bladen golf.

Another personal best came from sophomore Dylan Register, who signed his card with a 93. Register’s game showed steady improvement throughout the day, especially off the tee, where he consistently found fairways and gave himself solid looks at the greens.

Sophomore Henry Simmons contributed with a 101, playing with grit and composure even when faced with a few tough holes. His consistent effort helped keep East Bladen in the hunt for a top finish.

Junior Hunter Simmons rounded out the Eagles’ scorecard with a 104. Despite a few challenging holes, Simmons battled through and kept his focus, giving his team the solid support they needed to lock in second place.

With momentum building, East Bladen turns its focus to the next match on Monday, April 14th, at Diamondback Golf Club.
