ELIZABETHTOWN, NC — The East Bladen Eagles continue to build chemistry and confidence as they navigate the early part of their season.

Hosting the Clinton Dark Horses on Tuesday night, the Eagles showed flashes of progress but ultimately fell in straight sets, 3-0, by scores of 25-14, 25-17, and 25-14.

While the scoreboard didn’t tilt in East Bladen’s favor, this young squad is steadily learning to play together each outing.

Throughout the match, East Bladen battled to extend rallies and found bright spots offensively.

Taylor Dowless led the way with five kills, six attacks, and two blocks, providing a spark at the net. Aubrei Nixon contributed four kills and two blocks, showing her strength on both offense and defense.

Cabria Baldwin added two kills and two blocks while also collecting a pair of digs, while Marlee Potter chipped in one kill, an assist, and two digs.

Tatum Allen delivered 13 serve attempts and anchored the back row with steady passing, while Mileigh Martin and Nadya Colon added key digs to keep plays alive.

Despite Clinton’s powerful offense, East Bladen’s ability to sustain longer rallies and create scoring chances reflected steady growth from their previous outings.

JV Recap

Harlie Shaw directed the offense with 10 assists while also recording a dig. Bella Beard tallied two kills, an assist, and four digs, while Tenley Dowless contributed three kills on just two attacks.

Addison Douglas added six serve assists, six ball-handling assists, and four digs, helping keep East Bladen competitive throughout.

Julia Flowers chipped in one kill and two digs, while Chloe Merritt and Avianna Whittington provided key defensive coverage.

With a roster full of young players, East Bladen’s focus remains on improvement and developing chemistry on the court.

The coaching staff continues to emphasize fundamentals, communication, and consistency as the Eagles work toward turning competitive sets into victories.

East Bladen will return to action against county rival West Bladen on Wednesday, looking to carry their lessons forward and keep building momentum.

If their previous game earlier this year is any indication, fans will be in for a treat!
