Elizabethtown, NC - Emereau baseball delivered a complete team performance in an 11-0 win over Tar Heel on Wednesday afternoon, combining steady offensive production with dominant pitching to secure the shutout.
The win also served as a celebration of Emereau’s 8th-grade players, honoring Greylon Robinson, Stryker Pait, Gunner Lewis, Jackson Moffatt, and Greigh Butler for their leadership and contributions to the team.
From the first pitch, Emereau came out focused and balanced on both sides of the game. Stryker Pait set the tone on the mound with four scoreless innings, allowing no runs while striking out seven. Pait also helped his own cause at the plate, driving a double into the gap and bringing home a run.
Greylon Robinson and Gunner Lewis each took over in relief, combining for three outs and three strikeouts to close out the game without surrendering a hit or a run.
Offensively, Emereau saw production throughout the lineup. Noah Ray had a standout afternoon, scoring twice while collecting a single, a double, and an RBI. Gunner Lewis was just as effective, reaching base multiple times with a pair of singles, driving in two runs, and scoring twice himself.
Greylon Robinson, one of the honored 8th graders, crossed the plate twice and added a walk, contributing both offensively and on the mound. Colt Lewis chipped in with a double and an RBI, while Ryker Britt added a single and also drove in a run. Grayson Leggett reached base twice and scored, adding a double and a walk to his line.
Craven Kinlaw and Greigh Butler each provided solid contributions as well—Kinlaw notched a single and an RBI, and Butler connected for a double. Jackson Moffatt rounded out the effort by drawing a walk and handling duties behind the plate with poise.
Tar Heel, though unable to generate a rally, showed resilience at the plate with patient at-bats from Chris and Ryson, each drawing walks.
Jayden and Davion each saw two trips to the plate, while Sterling, Jarvis, Mannie, Carlos, Jackson, and Anthony all battled through at-bats against Emereau’s tough pitching.
On the mound for Tar Heel, Jackson worked three innings and struck out two, while Chris pitched the final frame, giving up two earned runs but continuing to compete against a deep Emereau lineup.
For Emereau, it was a day of both celebration and execution, a fitting send-off for a talented group of 8th graders who have helped shape the foundation of the team.
