Emereau Lady Aviators Fall to Midway Middle in Strong Effort

DUNN, NC — The Emereau Lady Aviators dropped their second game of the young season Monday night, falling 33-19 to Midway Middle in Sampson County.
The loss evens Emereau’s record at 1-1 as they continue to grow and learn early in the 2024-25 campaign.
Midway Middle jumped out to an early 11-8 advantage after the first quarter and never looked back, extending their lead to 17-12 by halftime.
The Raiders continued to build momentum in the second half, outscoring Emereau 16-7 over the final two quarters to seal the victory.
Harper Allen paced the Lady Aviators with 8 points, knocking down four field goals in the paint. Keri Burgess added 7 points on a pair of baskets and three free throws, showing her versatility in scoring both from the floor and the charity stripe.
Zoe Hall and Alaina Wilkins each chipped in 2 points apiece for Emereau in the strong effort.
For Midway Middle, Preslie Williams led all scorers with 13 points, while Emery Williams added 12. Reagan Jackson contributed 7 points as the Raiders got balanced scoring from multiple players.
The Lady Aviators will look to bounce back when they travel to Cape Fear Academy next Thursday, December 5th. The girls are set to tip off at 4:00 p.m., with the boys game to follow.
