Bladenboro, NC - The West Bladen Lady Knights put together a strong team effort to claim a 4-2 win over the South Columbus Lady Stallions, completing a non-conference season sweep with the win.
Solid pitching, aggressive baserunning, and timely hitting helped the Lady Knights protect their home field and secure the win.
Leading the offensive charge, Addison Wilcox had a standout performance, reaching base four times with two singles, a triple, and a walk. She also stole two bases, scored a run, and picked up an RBI.
Jahyrah Priest also had a big night at the plate, delivering a single and a double while knocking in a run and scoring once.
Bristol Allen contributed with a clutch RBI single, while Marlie Walters also drove in a run to help keep the Lady Knights on top.
Speed on the bases played a key role in the victory. Allison Hickman, Holland Davis, Addison Wilcox, and Jahyrah Priest each crossed home plate to contribute to the four-run total.
Kali Allen added a hit to the offensive tally, helping keep pressure on the Lady Stallions' defense.
In the pitching circle, Allison Hickman was dominant, throwing a complete game. She held South Columbus to just five hits while allowing two runs—only one of which was earned.
She also struck out eight batters, keeping the Lady Stallions from mounting a comeback.
With another victory under their belt, the Lady Knights continue to gain momentum heading into the season.
West Bladen will return to action on Monday for a home matchup against county rival East Bladen as they prepare to cap off a string of non-conference play.
