Dunn, NC - The Emereau Aviators continued their strong start to the season with a commanding 5-0 win over Midway on Thursday night in middle school baseball action at Midway Middle School.
The victory improves Emereau’s record to 2-0 on the season.
The Aviators plated four runs in the second inning to take early control of the game and added an insurance run in the fifth.
Behind a balanced effort at the plate and a strong performance on the mound, Emereau never allowed Midway a chance to gain momentum.
Striker Pait led the way offensively with two hits, a run scored, and an RBI. Colt Lewis also had a productive night, collecting two hits and scoring a run.
Gunner Lewis reached base multiple times and contributed with one hit, a run scored, an RBI, and a walk. Jackson Moffat added a hit, an RBI, and drew a walk as well.
Noah Ray and Ryker Britt each chipped in with a hit and a run scored, helping to keep pressure on the Midway defense.
Cooper Patrick and Greylon Robinson both showed discipline at the plate, each drawing a walk. Vance Rowland also reached base once with a walk.
On the mound, Colt Lewis was in full command throughout the game, going the distance, pitching five innings while giving up just three hits and one walk.
He struck out three batters and kept the Midway offense off the scoreboard.
With another solid team performance, the Aviators look to carry their momentum into their next contest as they aim to keep their perfect record intact when they host Clarkton on Wednesday at 4pm.
