Fayetteville, NC - Former East Bladen High School standout Zamar Lewis is making a significant impact on the baseball field for Fayetteville Technical Community College (FTCC) this season.
A native of Bladen County, North Carolina, Lewis earned All-Conference honors in three sports during his high school career.
Now a sophomore first baseman for the Trojans, he is pursuing an associate of arts degree while showcasing exceptional talent on the diamond.
In a recent double header against Southeastern Community College-Whiteville on March 29, Lewis delivered an outstanding performance in two games, recording five hits, including three home runs, and driving in seven runs.
This remarkable display of power and precision contributed significantly to FTCC's offensive success.
Over the course of the season, Lewis has compiled impressive statistics:
Batting Average: .337
On-Base Percentage: .466
Slugging Percentage: .663
Total Hits: 34
Walks Drawn: 16
Home Runs: 9 (setting a new single-season school record)
Runs Batted In (RBIs): 38 (also a new single-season school record)
Runs Scored: 29
Stolen Bases: 19
These achievements highlight Lewis's pivotal role in FTCC's lineup and his ability to influence games both offensively and defensively.
As the season progresses, the Trojans will look to Lewis for continued leadership and contributions as they strive for success in the competitive NJCAA Region 10 conference.
Note: All statistics are current as of March 31, 2025.
