Bladenboro, NC - After a tough start to the week, Bladenboro Middle School’s baseball team showed resilience and heart in a dominant win at home.

The week began on Monday in Whiteville, where Bladenboro traveled to face a strong Central Middle squad. Despite their best efforts, the Bulldogs fell short, losing 14-1.

Bladenboro didn’t stay down long.

By Wednesday, they were back on their home field and firing on all cylinders. The Bulldogs unleashed an offensive surge to defeat Elizabethtown 19-4.

Bladenboro’s bats came alive early and stayed hot throughout the game. Gaston Russ set the tone with a strong performance, reaching base multiple times and crossing the plate three times. He added two singles, a walk, and drove in a run.

Keithan Russ, followed suit with a double and a single, scoring twice and drawing a walk.

Gauge King chipped in with a timely single and brought home two runs, while Sawyer King, showed patience at the plate with three walks and added two runs and an RBI.

Brooks Carroll provided a highlight moment, launching a home run that brought the dugout to life. He also reached on an error and scored twice.

Ty Thurman and Drake Gause both crossed the plate and worked walks, continuing the team’s trend of disciplined at-bats.

Qxel Campos had a pair of sharp singles and scored twice, and Dalton Ammons was electric on the basepaths, scoring three runs and collecting two hits of his own.

Several substitutes also saw playing time, contributing to the team win and gaining valuable experience: Gray Nobles, Rylin Bordeaux, Will Allen, Triton Bordeaux, Zion Ellison, Ronderick Bellamy, and Jeremiah Bryan.

On the mound, Bladenboro had a strong showing from its pitchers. Ty Thurman struck out five batters, keeping Elizabethtown off balance, and Keithan Russ matched that performance with five strikeouts of his own.

For Elizabethtown, despite the final score, had some bright spots to build on.

Prince McKoy had a solid day at the plate, scoring twice and adding a single and a walk. Chase Moultrie displayed great patience, drawing two walks and coming around to score. John High also reached base and scored, taking advantage of a Bladenboro error.

Damian Maynor worked a walk and made it all the way to third base, while several others—including Khalil Moore, Richard White, Christopher Hall, Ayden Smith, and Michael Gurgainous—contributed with effort and hustle that didn’t go unnoticed.

Elizabethtown’s substitutes—Jabrel Rogers and Kollin Adams—added depth and energy as the team continued to compete until the final out.

Bladenboro will look to carry the momentum into next week as they travel to East Columbus on Monday.
