Emereau Aviators Soar Past Old Main Stream Academy, 20-11

Elizabethtown, NC - The Emereau Charter School Aviators took the field Monday afternoon with focus and fire, powering their way to a 20-11 win over Old Main Stream Academy in middle school softball action.
It was a total team effort at the plate and in the circle, as every Aviator contributed to the high-scoring victory.
At the top of the lineup, Chloe Merritt showed great patience at the plate, drawing three walks and crossing home plate three times. Sierra Thompson matched that effort with three walks of her own and also scored three runs, making her presence felt every time she reached base.
Mollie Sasser sparked the offense with two hits and also reached on an error. She scored four times and added a walk to her productive day. Angelia Jones brought the power, collecting two hits and blasting a home run, while also scoring three runs in the win.
Makynzee Thompson reached on an error, helping to keep the inning alive in one of Emereau’s big scoring frames. Alaina Wilkins had a strong showing at the plate with three hits and one run scored. Harper Allen contributed with a solid performance as well, finishing with one hit and a walk.
Keri Burgess added to the offensive momentum with a walk and a run scored. Khloe Campbell had a big day at the dish, tallying three hits and scoring twice. Emma Adams chipped in with a walk and a run scored, while Rylee added a hit and crossed the plate two times.
On the mound, Mollie Sasser set the tone early, pitching two innings and striking out four. Chloe Campbell came in for relief, working a third of an inning. Sierra Thompson closed out the game with 1 2/3 innings of work, striking out four and helping to seal the victory.
With strong contributions up and down the lineup, the Aviators continue to show growth and grit as the season progresses, awaiting their next matchup vs Clarkton on Wednesday.
