Elizabethtown, NC - The Emereau Charter School softball team continued their strong season on Thursday evening, defeating Riverside 16-6 in front of a home crowd in Elizabethtown.

Fueled by a well-rounded offensive effort and steady pitching, Emereau built momentum early and never looked back.

At the plate, the Lady Aviators showed patience and power throughout the lineup. Chloe Merritt reached base twice with a pair of walks and came around to score once, setting the tone at the top of the order.

Sierra Thompson also worked a walk and crossed the plate to help build the early lead. Thompson later made her biggest impact in the pitcher’s circle, recording six strikeouts and keeping Riverside hitters off balance.

Mollie Sasser had a productive day with two singles and scored twice, contributing to the offensive surge.

Angelina Jones added a base hit of her own, while Mackynzee Thompson continued her strong season with two singles, a walk, and a pair of runs scored.

One of the key contributors was Aliana Wilkins, who showed excellent plate discipline with three walks and scored three times.

Presleigh Edwards delivered a key double and scored a run, while Khloe Campbell brought the crowd to their feet with two doubles, a single, and two runs scored—an offensive performance that gave Emereau a big lift in the middle innings.

Keri Burgess added a triple and a single and also scored a run in the win. Harper Allen drew a walk and crossed the plate, and Rylee White worked two walks and came home to score as well. Emma Adams also contributed to the team’s effort as Emereau rolled to victory.

The Aviators made good use of their bench as well, with solid appearances from subs Julianna Autry, Presleigh Edwards, Layla Crawford, Rylee White, and Harper Allen—all of whom helped keep the energy high and the momentum going.

With the win, Emereau turns its attention to Monday evening’s matchup on the road at Old Main Stream Academy.
