JV Boys Basketball: Fairmont 37, West Bladen 32

BLADENBORO, NC – Fairmont defeated West Bladen 37-32 Tuesday in Southeastern Athletic Conference jayvee boys’ basketball action.
JaQuan Lesane tossed in a pair of baskets, and Blake Britt nailed a 3-point shot to spark the Knights to an early 7-4 lead. The Tornadoes rallied with a 16-8 2nd quarter spurt that produced a 20-15 lead.
Calvin Sinclaire buried a 3-point shot for West in the 2nd quarter. Lesane and Cyncere Jessup popped in baskets, and Sincere McKinley netted a free throw.
Jessup sank a basket and a free throw in the 3rd quarter, and McKinley pumped in a basket. Center Demarious Guions cashed in 2 free throws, but Fairmont padded their lead to 30-22.
Jessup fired in a pair of baskets in the final period and led the Knights with 9 points. Lesane threw in a basket and finished with 8 points. Britt swished a pair of free throws, and Sayvion Covington dropped in a basket.
Coach Matt Hill’s Knights are now 3-5 in SAC play and 6-8 overall. West Bladen will visit East Bladen Thursday night.
