JV Boys Basketball: West Bladen 29, East Bladen 13

Elizabethtown, NCJaQuan Lesane fired in 10 points, and Sayvion Covington tossed in 9 to lead West Bladen to a 29-13 non-conference jayvee boys basketball victory over East Bladen Thursday night.

 

Coach Matt Hill’s Knights ended their season with the win and finished 8-8 overall. Red Springs has suffered some injuries and will not be able to field a team against West Friday night.

 

Covington and Sincere McKinley drained 3-point shots in the opening quarter, and Lesane added a basket as the Knights jumped ahead 8-3. Landyn Scott bombed in a 3-ball for the Eagles.

 

Lesane and Covington tossed in baskets, and center Demarious Guions netted a free throw as the West lead grew to 13-5 at halftime. Scott threw in another basket for East in the period.

 

Lesane fired in a 3-pointer and a free throw in the 3rd quarter. Covington popped in a basket, and McKinley sank a free throw as the Knight lead grew to 20-7. Scott flipped in a basket for East.

 

Ahbril Cooper pumped in a basket and 2 free throws for West in the final period. Covington and Lesane dropped in a basket each, and Cyncere Jessup swished a free throw.

 

Joel Lewis hurled in a basket for East in the final period, and teammates Tykee Hill and John Monroe cashed in 2 free throws each.

 

Scott led the Eagle scoring with 7 points. McKinley and Cooper finished with 4 points each for West.
