TAR HEEL, NC — It was a strong showing for Tar Heel School on both the boys’ and girls’ soccer fields against East Columbus Middle.

In the boys’ match, defense was the storyline as neither side could find much room to attack.

Tar Heel managed to capitalize on one of their few chances and held firm the rest of the way, earning a 1-0 victory.

The girls’ contest saw Tar Heel turn up the pressure early and sustain it throughout.

Controlling possession and limiting East Columbus’ opportunities, Tar Heel built a steady lead and closed out a 3-0 win to complete the sweep.

BLADENBORO, NC — The game between Bladenboro and Clarkton delivered plenty of excitement Monday night.

Girls

On the girls’ side, Bladenboro extended a remarkable run of success, earning their 23rd straight victory dating back to 2022 with a 5-1 win.

The Bulldogs built a 2-1 lead at halftime, then pulled away in the second half.

Ady Carroll led the scoring with two goals, while Carley Rhodes, Sabria Cobb, and Bella Hester each added one.

Ashley Santos contributed an assist to the attack.

Clarkton’s lone goal came on a penalty kick by Trinity Davis, but the Bladenboro defense, anchored by Kaylee Fisher, Trinity Dutcher, and Liz Miller, shut down any hopes of a comeback.
