West Bladen Golf Competes at Southeastern Conference Match

Clinton, NC – The West Bladen golf team turned in a solid effort this week at the Southeastern Athletic Conference match, finishing fourth out of five competing teams with a combined score of 361. Midway led the day with a strong 309 finish, followed by Fairmont (347), Clinton (357), and Saint Pauls (475).
West Bladen was paced by sophomore Seth Faircloth, who put together a steady round and finished with an 86. Faircloth continued to be a reliable presence for the Knights, showing confidence throughout the day and keeping his scorecard clean with consistent play off the tee.
Senior Nolan Sessoms added a 91 to the team total. He strung together a series of solid approach shots and timely putts that helped the Knights stay competitive in the team standings.
Freshman Jonathan Gooden impressed with a 90, showing maturity beyond his years. Gooden held his composure across all 18 holes, making smart decisions that paid off.
Fellow freshman Gavin Brisson shot a 94. Brisson showed flashes of what he’s capable of with several well-placed drives and a strong putting touch that helped him stay close to the low 90s.
Junior Gavin Smith rounded out the scoring with a 97. Despite a few tough holes, Smith battled through and finished strong, contributing to West Bladen’s overall competitive performance on the day.
The Knights continue to build momentum as the regular season moves toward their next match at Lakewood on April 28th.
