Bladenboro, NC – The West Bladen golf team capped off an impressive regular season with a second-place finish in the Southeastern Athletic Conference (SAC 6) following Monday’s match.

With consistent play throughout the spring, the Knights have earned a trip to the 2A Mid-East Regionals, scheduled for Tuesday, May 6th at The Preserve at Jordan Lake Golf Club in Chapel Hill. Tee times are set to start at 9 a.m.

Leading the way for West Bladen was sophomore Seth Faircloth, who turned in a solid round of 83. Faircloth’s poise and consistency have anchored the Knights all season, and Monday’s performance was no different as he helped keep West Bladen near the top of the leaderboard.

Senior Nolan Sessoms closed out his regular season career with a 94, contributing important scores for the team while providing veteran leadership.

Freshman Jonathan Gooden and sophomore Evan Melvin each posted scores of 98. Gooden has shown steady growth in his first season of high school golf, and Melvin’s round reflected the grit he’s brought to each competition this spring.

Freshman Gavin Brisson added to the team’s strong showing with a composed round of 87, one of his most complete performances of the year.

With a second-place finish in the SAC 6 secured and momentum on their side, the Knights now set their sights on regional play. As they prepare to take on some of the state’s top 2A talent in Chapel Hill, this young and determined group is ready for the challenge.
