West Bladen JV Girls 36, East Columbus 19

LAKE WACCAMAW, NC — Kynzlee Wood and Abigail Dew combined for 24 points to lead West Bladen to a season-opening 36-19 non-conference JV girls’ basketball victory over East Columbus Tuesday night. 


Wood scored all 13 of her points in the 2nd half, while Dew finished with 11 points. Lauryn Lesane chipped in with 6 points for the Lady Knights.


Dew bombed in a 3-point shot and netted 2 free throws to help West grab an early 9-0 lead. Lesane and Logan Powers added baskets during the run.


Lesane tossed in 2 more baskets in the 2nd quarter, and Hadley Dove popped in a basket to keep the Lady Knights up 15-10 at halftime. 


Dew lit up the scoreboars with a trio of baskets in the 3rd quarter, and Wood drained a 3-point shot and another basket.


Damonyque Blackwell threw in a basket as the West lead grew to 28-14. Wood buried a 3-point shot and flipped in 2 more baskets and a free throw in the final quarter for the winers. 


Ashlee McFadden and Grace Williamson shared scoring honors for East Columbus with 6 points each.
