Cameron, NC - East Bladen’s track and field team turned in several strong performances at the Union Pines meet on Saturday, with a few athletes standing out among tough competition, such as 3A and 4A schools.

In the boys’ discus finals, Dashon Campbell showed his strength and technique, launching a throw of 130 feet, 8 inches to secure third place out of 30 competitors.

On the field, Jaden Lewis delivered a solid showing in the long jump, landing at 17 feet, 1 inch to claim ninth place in a field of 20.

Lewis also doubled up on the track, running in the 100-meter dash prelims, where he finished just outside the top ten in 11th.

Teammate Chace Butler edged into the top ten in the same event, proving East Bladen’s speed is just as sharp as its power.

Each athlete demonstrated the kind of grit and growth that bodes well for the rest of the season.

East Bladen will look to continue success on Thursday at Pender High School for the next meet.
